Did you see the photos today of that 30-story high rise in Shanghai that is burning to the ground? Oh my goodness. 42 people have died and more than 90 are injured, and that is, as these things go, only SO FAR. It’s also one of those weird situations where the photos are really stunning and almost beautiful? Don’t get me wrong: actual nightmare IN PROGRESS, but you know what I mean. Did you ever see Terminator 3? At the end of Terminator 3 there is that one scene where Skynet launches, like, ALL the missiles in the world, and you see them soar out over the planet, and it’s really neat looking. There is just something horrifyingly beautiful about the end of things. But make no mistake: things are ending. Constantly. Forever.
So, we might as well find something that makes us happy before they do. For example: tons of fucking sequins
The internet radio station Pandora.com probably knows me better then anyone else. How else could you explain the infinite wisdom Pandora showed when it introduced me to the musical revelation of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole! His voice is like a cool Hawiian breeze in my ears!! Attention Dolly Parton, Liza, RuPaul and Martha Wash, you all are bout to have some new company on my wall of musical muses. Your welcome! -David
What I need to know is where does one buy tiny cat furniture? Its too friggin cute. Though it is much more sad if you think of it as a Feline Hospice. -David
Yesterday I was in Soho and decided to treat myself, and check out New York's (and North America's) first TopShop store. Its giant. There are four floors jammed with shopping teens and teens sales ladies and it was kinda of a sensory overload for me. Moments before I had an autistic meltdown I was able to find a safe space in a corner of the store that was highlighting the designs of illustrator/designer Vanessa Da Silva. It was the sweetest spot in the entire store! Her inspiration was 'The Jungle Goes Shopping' and her collection is loaded with prints like the one above (how friggin cute is that? Camels in heels and lipstick, monkeys loaded with jewelry, carrying two or three purses at a time!). via vanessadadilva.com -David
The first batch of clothes is up on Ebay and while I see a bidding war in the works over some items, others haven't been bid on yet. This is your chance you guys! Swoop down like a pidgeon on a french fry, its your's for the taking! As Kenny Powers might say, let me f*ck you up with some knowledge. Clockwise from top right:
How does a spider catch a fly? With its web. Well, a lady isn't born with a web, but she can get one (web dress) and catch herself a guy (or whatever she wants, no judgements). Bodywebs.com is really something you need to see no matter who you wanna catch. The site is kooky OK (there is a page that plainly informs visitors the bussiness is operated from a mobile home in a nudist camp). But some of the fashions on there are stone cold chic.As Gina says (this is one of her highest forms of flattery) 'it looks designer'. Though I am still not 100% decided on which menswear piece would suit me best.
Whoops, there goes my eye twitch! That is just how excited I am for this. They better not ruin this. I do have a few reservations, I am not into the Urban Outfitters font going through the opening credits and also The Arcade Fire? What in the heck? Please Hollywood fat cats- don't make this the worst.
Suzie Templeton is a mad awesome animator who made a Peter and the Wolf short film that won an Oscar. No offense to the movie Coraline, but this is how sweet animation is supposed to look.
Its not fair that Australia gets all the cool animals. Kangaroos, Koala bears and the Platypus, all in one country that doesn't do anything cool besides make Outback Steakhouses. Why can't America have some of those cool animals for once? All we have is a bunch of deer and squirrels. Anyways, it was mad hot in Australia and here is a 'to die for' gallery of Koala bears getting their drink on.
Hello forget the Slanket and the Snuggie, the Couch Dress is satisfying all my couch sitting needs. If you're a gal who isn't on the go, and you find yourself pretty much planted on the couch and looking at the tv, what better way to remain chic AND decorate your home at the same time?! Knitted with beautiful thick yarns in a to die for 70s palate this will defiantly have your guests impressed and wondering where the sofa cover ends and the dress begins.
Did you know that St. Patrick's day is the celebration of St. Patrick, an Irish guy who lead all the snakes out of Ireland? That's what Wikipedia says. What's really the best thing about St. Patrick's day and all other mini holidays is of course the PET COSTUMES! How cute are they? TO DIE FOR! Remember to put something green on your pet or its 7 years of bad luck or something. And don't forget to take a picture!
